Daily Skin Care

Experts in the beauty industry say that there are actually two effective ways of taking care of aging skin. First is the artificial means through plastic surgeries and through the use of products that contain chemicals that are believed to minimize the signs of aging.

And the other one is through natural means that include measures to living a healthy lifestyle like eating the right foods, not smoking, occasional drinking of alcohol, and regular exercise.

Experts say that although artificial means is an easy remedy to aging, they encourage people to take natural means as possible because if these are done and followed properly, they can have a lasting effect on your appearance and over all health and well being.

Taking Care Of Your Skin To Avoid Aging

In order to avoid the early signs of aging, skin care should be an essential part of everyones life. The first step in taking care of skin is to know what type of skin you possess. Dermatologists—professionals who are experts on skin and skin care and treatment—categorize skin types into four that include dry, oily, normal, and combination.

A tight or rough feel of the skin often distinguishes dry skin. It is characterized by the presence of flakes and scales as well as redness and itchiness of the skin. Experts say that is if you have dry skin, it is a must that you avoid washing it with hot water. It is also a must that you stay away from using harsh or strong soaps and alcohol-based skin products to avoid skin irritation.

The next type is the oily skin that is characterized by shiny appearance and large pores on the skin’s surface that makes it prone to acne. People who have oily skin should shun away from too much scrubbing that can cause more pimple breakout. It is also advisable that they use non-comedogenic skin products to maintain healthy skin.

Normal skin, on the other hand, is characterized by healthy glow. It doesn’t have redness or large pores. People who have normal skin types should use skin care products that help maintain the natural water balance of their skin.

Last is combination skin that has dry and oily areas. Oily sections usually include the T-zone (the forehead, nose, and chin), while cheeks remain less oily. People with combination skin must use products that are specifically developed for this skin type in order to avoid over-drying that can cause redness, itchiness, or any irritation.

Skin Care Through The Ages

A great complexion in your 40's and beyond starts with a skin care routine in your 20's. Furthermore understanding your skin type (dry, oily, sensitive, combination) will assist you in selecting the right products.

The 20's are the age of prevention. This is the time when lack of care now will be evident in latter years. For instance, over exposure to sun causes damage to the skin but the brown spots will not be apparent till you are in your 40's; squinting in the sun and not using moisturizers can contribute to fine dry lines around the eyes. Thus caring for your skin in your 20's should consist of cleansing, toning, moisturizing and protection. Additionally, an occasional facial mask to hydrate and draw out impurities and exfoliation to slough off dead skin and promote circulation may be in order. Blemishes can also be a problem in your 20's, for spot treatments consider tea tree oil.

The 30's is the decade of laugh lines and crow's feet. There is a gradual breakdown of collagen and elasticity thus resulting in less elasticity in the skin and the loss of a firm supple texture. Furthermore, the sebaceous glands become less active, and poorly lubricated skin will not retain moisture as it did in the past so our skin becomes much drier. To make matters worse cell turnover is sluggish thus causing the dead cells to remain on the skin's surface which dulls the complexion. For some, brown spots and uneven color blotches can appear on the skin. At this stage in our life the need to continue with a good skin care routine (cleansing, toning, moisturize/protect) is essential. At this time you may want to consider a under eye cream or gel. Your skin care products should be filled with anti-oxidants such as Vitamins A, C, E, and beta carotene. Selecting skin care products with antioxidants also aids in the in the production of collagen and elastin. Collagen keeps the skin firm and elastin adds and maintains elasticity in your skin, thus reducing sagging skin and wrinkles. While there are many foods high in anti-oxidants it is not likely that we consume enough. Again, exfoliates and facial masks are in order as part of your skin care routine.

The 40's your skin cell turnover takes twice as long as it did at age 20. The loss of the underlying structure (collagen and elastin) contributes to thinning of the epidermis which leads to drooping eyes, neck wattles and causes the skin to look papery. Pigmentation also changes creating shadows and blotches and age spots are now apparent on the face, neck, chest, and back of hands. Your skin care routine now should contain anti-aging ingredients such as peptides and retinol to invigorate the skin. Additionally treatments such as chemical peels and microdermabrasion treatments may be in order. Moisturizers should be rich in emollients to soothe dry skin and rich in vitamins to nourish the skin.

The 50's and beyond, you face as reached maturity. The fat padding beneath the skin has diminished so your face shows more of its angles and hollows. As muscle fibers weaken, the fat that remains under the eyes form bags. Facial bones begin to shrink, causing all-around sagging. Oil production decreases after menopause resulting in significant dryness. As cell turnover rate continues to slow, skin becomes thinner and more prone to wrinkling and drooping. Years of sun exposure or hormonal changes may lead to patchiness or unevenness in skin tone. As with your 40's your skin care products should contain anti-aging ingredients and be rich in emollients and provide nutrition for the skin. Clay masks that deeply hydrate the skin are in order as well as exfoliation treatments. There are many remedies on the market to lighten brown spots, and special serums that will tighten the skin around the eyes. There are also chemical peels and microdermabrasion treatments that actually slough off the first layer of the skin thus exposing the new skin cells.

While aging is inevitable, start with a good skin care program in your 20's and a healthy diet and your skin will reward you for it latter in life. As you can see our skin changes over time, thus it is necessary to evaluate your skin care program regularly to ensure that you are using the right skin products for your skin type.

Just as our bodies change with age, so does our skin. Our skin goes through several changes over the years and understanding these changes will assist you in selecting the right skin care products.

How To Manage Your Time

  1. How many things you wanted to begin doing but didn't manage to?
  2. How many late tasks you should have finished by now but you didn't manage yet?
  3. Do you find yourself unable to catch up with your friends who get things done?
Time is the most precious asset you have and even though most of people are aware of this fact still some of them keep wasting time.

Most people don't waste time on intention but instead they do some mistakes that kills their time without noticing and that's why in this article i will point out these mistakes in order to tell you how to stop wasting time.

Why do i waste time?

Here are the most common underlying reasons for wasting time:
  • Waiting for the mood: How many times have you delayed a task because you wanted to wait for the right mood to come? let me tell you a fact, this right mood might never come and even if it came it won't last forever. By waiting for the mood you are deciding to only work as long as you are feeling happy and so your tasks will never be completed in a short period of time. People who get things done aren't the one who are always in the mood but instead they are the people who go against their moods.
  • Waiting for the right time to start: Just as the right mood rarely comes the right time to start rarely comes too. If you are afraid of failure or if you believe that the task you want to do is hard then your subconscious mind might fool you into believing that you are waiting for the right time instead of facing you with the truth!! If you want to stop wasting time then you should be brave enough to face the real reasons that are preventing you from taking actions.
  • What are your goals?: If you don't have any goals then why are you bothering to read about time management? after all the only use of time is to utilize it to reach your goals but if you don't have any then go on and waste your time because you don't need it at all.
  • Being Focused is the key: The biggest mistake people do while trying to complete a task is not being focused 100% on it. If you answer your phone, check your mail, open facebook or even reply to an sms while doing a certain task then the task will never be completed on time. If you want to meet your deadlines then forget about everything else except the task that you are doing right now
  • Do you have a list?:If you don't have a clearly defined list of tasks then you would never be able to complete your work on time. The confusion that would result from not knowing what to begin with will waste most of your time and reduce your productivity

Learn To Forgive And Be Free

Forgiveness is something that can have a profound effect on our lives but it is also something that is often not fully understood. If we can truly forgive then we are able to transform our lives completely and move on to live a full and fulfilled life. On the other hand, if, like many people, we find it extremely difficult or impossible, we become entrapped in a dark prison and are not able to see the light of day. We are eaten up by past grievances and wrongdoings and are unable concentrate on the future. Our minds are full of dark harmful thoughts, our sense of being wronged is acute and we constantly revisit the scenes of these slights and hurts. Even As we go about our everyday activities this feeling of being hurt is like a shadow hanging over us. It is impossible to live an enlightened and carefree life if we feel we are restricted and hampered in some way. In most cases we do not know why we are feeling inhibited in some way, we just know we are.

Many of us like hanging on to our feelings of injustice or blame and harboring thoughts of revenge. They are like old friends to us and we are slow to replace them. As long as we are happy with these “friends” we shall never properly move on with our lives and grow and mature.

Forgiving ourselves is another important aspect to consider. Many of us blame ourselves for something happening in our lives that had unfortunate consequences. We agonize over it and continually heap blame upon ourselves. We will accept no excuses for our behavior and feel our resulting unhappiness was well merited. We continue through life in this sorry fashion, wallowing in our misery and steadfastly refusing to change our mindset. It is a fact that we find it easier to forgive others rather than ourselves.

What we need to remember is that, whether we like it or not, we ourselves are responsible for attracting either positive or negative events or happenings into our lives. This is an established fact and I have dealt with it in my book “A Better Tomorrow”. We have to realize that we have created the anger, guilt and hatred that may be in our lives. If we desire to change our circumstances we must firstly stop blaming either ourselves or others. If we are able to create and attract unhappy things in our lives then it follows that we can choose to fill our existence with good and positive things and literally create a better tomorrow.

It will take a lot of reflection and soul-searching to change our mindset. We must prepare a climate where we part with our old biased perceptions and feelings of hurt and guilt. We must see the destructive effect that these had on our lives to date. If we are serious about moving on and creating a better life for ourselves then we need to rise above petty grievances. We deserve a life that is free of recriminations and negativity.

Is it easy to learn to forgive? Of course not but the prize is so great that the effort to change will be well worth it. The process will take a lot of honesty and critical analysis. We have to be brutally frank with ourselves and see both sides to every argument or incident that upset us in the past. Did we ever give the other person the benefit of the doubt? Sometimes when we go into details about some old conflict we realize things were not simply black and white. We must constantly remind ourselves that bitterness and negative emotions block the free flow of life and impedes healing.
